Her debut novel, "The Hiding Place," earned widespread recognition, including a Booker Prize shortlist nomination—a rare achievement for a first-time author—and won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. Born in Cardiff to a Maltese father and Welsh mother, Azzopardi draws from her multicultural heritage in her writing.
