Trish Harnetiaux

Trish Harnetiaux is a Brooklyn-based playwright and novelist whose work spans theater, television, and literature. Her debut novel, "White Elephant," is forthcoming from Simon & Schuster, with a UK edition titled "The Secret Santa" published by Penguin Random House. She gained recognition for her play "Tin Cat Shoes," which premiered in 2018 as part of Clubbed Thumb’s Summerworks at Playwrights Horizons Superlab. Harnetiaux is also developing new theatrical works, including "Bender and Brian," a subversive take on "The Breakfast Club," and "We Are Not Well," commissioned through the Clifford Odets Commission.

Harnetiaux’s career reflects a blend of dark humor and unconventional storytelling. She served as an Executive Producer for the offbeat comedy series "Driver Ed," which premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. Her plays have been developed through residencies at prestigious institutions such as MacDowell, Yaddo, The Millay Colony, and SPACE at Ryder Farm. A graduate of Brooklyn College’s MFA program in playwriting, she has participated in Ars Nova Play Group and the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, further establishing her presence in experimental theater. Originally from Washington State, Harnetiaux draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest’s stark landscapes, often infusing her work with themes of isolation and resilience.

Currently, she continues to expand her body of work, balancing playwriting with her forthcoming literary debut. Her projects demonstrate a consistent fascination with offbeat narratives and character-driven drama, cementing her reputation as a distinctive voice in contemporary theater and fiction.
