Vanessa Lillie is a successful author of suspense thrillers and mysteries, best known for her debut novel "Little Voices," which was published in 2019. Lillie was born in Miami, Oklahoma, where she spent much of her childhood investigating local ghost stories at the public library. She went to college at Rockhurst University in Kansas City before moving to Washington D.C., where she joined several writer groups, including the Romance Writers of America DC chapter. It was through these groups that she met many friends who encouraged her and offered feedback on her manuscripts. Lillie currently resides in Providence, Rhode Island, with her husband and child.
Lillie's writing is influenced by her heritage as an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, and she is committed to incorporating social justice issues into her work. Her upcoming book, "Blood Sisters," which releases on October 31, 2023, is the launch of a new series that centers on the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (#MMIW2S). She is also the author of the bestselling thrillers "Little Voices" and "For the Best," as well as the co-author of the Audible Original "Young Rich Widows."
In addition to her work as an author, Lillie is a Board Member of Sisters in Crime and a regular contributor to The Providence Journal. She has fifteen years of marketing and communications experience and was a columnist for the Providence Journal. She also hosts a regular Instagram Live series with crime fiction authors. Lillie is passionate about organizing literary and book events in Providence's vibrant creative community, where she lives with her husband and son, who shares her obsession with sloths.
