Vera Nazarian

Vera Nazarian is a renowned Russian-American author, known for her works of speculative fiction and fantasy. Born in Russia in 1966, Nazarian is of Armenian descent and immigrated to the United States as a child during the Cold War. She attended Pomona College, where she double majored in English and Psychology, earning her B.A. Nazarian is a two-time Nebula Award Finalist and a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.

Nazarian is a prolific writer, with a wide range of published works to her name. She sold her first story at the age of 17 and has since seen her fiction translated into eight languages. Her notable works include the critically acclaimed novels "Dreams of the Compass Rose" and "Lords of Rainbow," as well as the romantic Renaissance epic fantasy trilogy "Cobweb Bride." She has also written a series of humorous and surprisingly romantic parodies, including "Mansfield Park and Mummies" and "Northanger Abbey and Angels and Dragons," as well as "Pride and Platypus: Mr. Darcy's Dreadful Secret" in her Supernatural Jane Austen Series.

After many years in Los Angeles, Nazarian now resides in a small town in Vermont. She uses her Armenian sense of humor and her Russian sense of suffering to bake conflicted pirozhki and create art.
