Vic James

Victoria James, known as Vic, is a well-known author of teen fiction. She was born in Britain, a country that features prominently in her work, particularly in her popular book "Gilded Cage." In this novel, James presents an alternate Britain where magic is a common and influential force.

James' personal life is as adventurous as the fictional worlds she creates. She resides in London's Notting Hill, but her experiences extend far beyond the city's limits. She pursued higher education at Merton College, Oxford, where the renowned author J.R.R. Tolkien once taught. Following her time at Oxford, she moved to Rome to complete her doctorate in the Vatican Secret Archives. These archives, contrary to the sensationalized portrayals in popular media like "The Da Vinci Code," provided James with a unique and scholarly perspective on history.

After Rome, James relocated to Tokyo for five years. There, she learned the Japanese language and worked as a journalist. Currently, she balances her time between writing full-time and directing documentaries for the BBC. Her personal adventures are as extensive as her professional ones, including scuba diving on Easter Island, camping at Everest Base Camp, sailing on one of the last mailboats to St. Helena, hang-gliding over Rio de Janeiro, and swimming the Hellespont from Europe to Asia. Despite her love for adventure, she also enjoys the simple pleasure of spending a day in bed with a good book and her favorite biscuits.
