Vicki Delany is a highly respected Canadian author, well-known for her work in the mystery genre. She has written numerous series under her own name, including the Year-Round Christmas Mysteries, the Constable Molly Smith novels, and the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mysteries. Delany also occasionally uses the pen name Eva Gates for her Lighthouse Library Mysteries series.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1951, Delany has had a long and successful career as a writer. She is a frequent panelist at various mystery conferences, including the Canadian Bloody Words National Mystery Conference, the American Malice Domestic and Boucheron conferences. Delany's dedication to the mystery genre is further demonstrated by her active membership in the Capital Crime Writers and the Crime Writers of Canada. She is not only a successful author but also a family person, being a mother to three daughters named Alex, Julia, and Caroline.

Delany is a prolific writer, having written more than forty books, including cozy mysteries, Gothic thrillers, police procedurals, historical fiction, and novellas for adult literacy. Currently, she is writing four cozy mystery series: the Year Round Christmas books for Crooked Lane, the Tea by the Sea mysteries for Kensington, the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop series for Crooked Lane Books, and the Lighthouse Library series (as Eva Gates) for Crooked Lane. Delany is a past president of the Crime Writers of Canada and co-founder and organizer of the Women Killing It Crime Writing Festival. She currently resides in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
