Victor Methos

Victor Methos is a prolific American author, renowned for his work in crime fiction, science fiction, and thriller novels. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Methos discovered his passion for law at the age of thirteen, after witnessing his best friend being interrogated for an extended period, which ultimately led to a false confession. This experience had a profound impact on Methos, solidifying his determination to become a lawyer and advocate for justice.

Before embarking on his writing career, Methos pursued a variety of interests and endeavors. He studied mathematics and philosophy and even ventured into the world of boxing. Eventually, he decided to attend law school, earning his degree from the University of Utah. Methos honed his legal skills as a prosecutor in Salt Lake City before establishing a successful criminal defense firm in Utah. His career as a lawyer saw him conducting over 100 trials, during which he developed a deep understanding of the legal system and sharpened his ability to craft compelling narratives.

Methos is the Edgar Award-nominated bestselling author of over forty novels, including the Jon Stanton series. He has a remarkable productivity rate, producing two books a year, often with his dog Fraiser by his side. His personal experiences and legal background have significantly influenced his writing, particularly in the realm of legal thrillers and mysteries. Some of his most notable works include "The Neon Lawyer," which drew from a memorable case during his time as a prosecutor, and "The Hallows," for which he received the Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction. His novel "A Gambler's Jury" earned him an Edgar nomination for Best Novel. Methos presently spends his time between southern Utah and Las Vegas.

In addition to his successful writing and legal careers, Methos is an adventurer at heart. He is currently planning to climb the Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each continent, and is working towards earning his certification as a deep-sea submersible pilot. These pursuits reflect Methos's multifaceted personality and his relentless drive to explore and conquer new challenges.
