Victoria Schochet Lustbader is an author and former editor known for her contemporary fiction and contributions to the publishing industry. Her debut novel, "Hidden," was published in 2006 by Forge Books, followed by "Stone Creek" in 2008 under HarperCollins. She later released "Approaching the Speed of Light," showcasing her versatility across multiple genres. Lustbader's literary career builds upon her extensive editorial experience, having worked with acclaimed science fiction and fantasy authors such as Ursula K. Le Guin, Harlan Ellison, and Frank Herbert.
Before transitioning to writing, Lustbader spent over a decade in publishing, holding editorial positions at Harper & Row and Berkley Publishing Group, where she specialized in science fiction and fantasy. She later shifted focus to environmental advocacy, serving on the Board of The Nature Conservancy for New York State while also working in development and communications. A native New Yorker, Lustbader balances her writing with her lifelong connection to the arts, having studied ballet, music, and literature. She and her husband, author Eric Van Lustbader, reside in New York City and Long Island's East End.
