After graduating in 1970, she specialized in pediatrics and moved to Lindsay, Ontario, with her husband, George Winters, a retired internist. Her medical background and interests in art and genealogy often inspire her storytelling. Now retired from medicine, Winters dedicates her time to writing sequels and revising her earlier works. She resides in Lindsay with her husband and their standard poodle, Cully.
