Vladimir Megré

Vladimir Nikolaevich Megre, a successful author and entrepreneur from Ukraine, is best known for his Anastasia series of books. These autobiographical works delve into Megre's life experiences, observations, and opinions on family, community, and nation. Born on July 23, 1950, in Kuznichi village, Gorodnyansky District, Chernigov Region in Ukraine, Megre spent a significant portion of his childhood with his grandmother, Efrosinia Verkhusha, a village healer. As a teenager, he occasionally visited Father Feodorit, a priest of the Trinity-Sergiyev Monastery.

Before becoming an author, Megre led an eventful life. At the age of 16, he began an independent life and worked as a photographer with Novosibirskoblfoto, a service company, in Novosibirsk from 1974. During the Perestroika reforms of the late 1980s, Megre served as the president of the Inter-Regional Association of Siberian Entrepreneurs. In 1994-5, he organized two large-scale trade expeditions along the River Ob at his own expense, which eventually led him to encounter Anastasia in the Siberian taiga. This life-changing encounter inspired him to write the Anastasia series.

From 1996 to 2006, Megre published nine books in the Ringing Cedars of Russia series: Anastasia, The Ringing Cedars of Russia, The Space of Love, Co-Creation, Who Are We?, Book of Kin, The Energy of Life, The New Civilization, and Rites of Love. In 2011, he became a Laureate of the Gusi Peace Prize. To date, more than 11 million copies of his books have been sold and translated into 20 languages. Megre established the Anastasia Foundation for Culture and Creative Support in the city of Vladimir and launched the site anastasia.ru. He holds readers' and press conferences in Russia and other countries and has inspired the creation of public organizations focused on establishing Kin's domains. In 2010, he released another book, Anasta, and plans to create a scenario based on his books.
