Waubgeshig Rice

Waubgeshig Rice is a journalist and author who hails from Wasauksing First Nation. He is married and has two children, and is a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Rice's writing is deeply rooted in his experiences growing up in an Anishinaabe community, and he has used this perspective to create works that are both personal and universal. His dedication to storytelling has earned him recognition from the Anishinabek Nation, which awarded him the Debwewin Citation for excellence in First Nation Storytelling in 2014. His debut novel, Legacy, was published in 2014, and his most recent novel, Moon of the Crusted Snow, was released in October 2018.
