Wayne D. Dundee

Wayne D. Dundee is a bestselling fiction author who was born and raised east of the Missouri River. His interest in the mythical West was sparked during his childhood through the popular TV shows and movies of the 1950s and 1960s. Dundee has since become a prominent figure in the Western genre, with his first Western novel, Dismal River, under his belt.

Dundee currently resides in Ogallala, Nebraska, a town steeped in Western history and once notorious for its cowboy culture. He relocated there after spending the first fifty years of his life in the state line area of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Following his retirement from a managerial position in the magnetics industry, Dundee has devoted his time to writing full-time.

To date, Dundee has published over two dozen novels and nearly three dozen short stories, many of which feature his private investigator protagonist, Joe Hannibal. The Hannibal series has been translated into several languages and has received nominations for an Edgar, an Anthony, and six Shamus Awards. In addition to his work in the crime and mystery genres, Dundee is also the founder and original editor of Hardboiled Magazine.

In recent years, Dundee has expanded his repertoire to include Westerns, gaining a growing following in the genre. He has received three Peacemaker Awards from Western Fictioneers for his work, including for the best first Western novel in 2011, and for the best Western short story in 2010 and 2012. Dundee plans to continue writing Westerns, as well as further novels and stories featuring Joe Hannibal, and hopes to explore other genres in the future.
