Wendy Cartmell is a successful author of crime thriller novels, best known for her Sgt. Major Crane series. Born in England, Cartmell discovered her passion for reading from her parents and developed her writing abilities later in life. Prior to becoming an author, she worked as a primary school teacher, as well as in sales, marketing, and public relations for various companies. It was not until she attended Reading University at the age of 40 that she discovered her talent for weaving a good story.
Now residing in Spain with her husband, Cartmell is an active member of a writing group and owns three fierce dogs. She holds a BA (Honors) degree in English and Education, which has proven to be beneficial in her writing career. In addition to her Sgt. Major Crane series, Cartmell has also written several books for her work and children. She has expanded her writing to include ghostly and psychic elements, as seen in her Emma Harrison mystery trilogy and the Crane and Anderson series.
Cartmell's latest project is a new series about a psychic detective named Jo Wolfe. The first book in the series, Touching the Dead, follows Wolfe as she attempts to right the wrongs of the living with the aid of the dead. This new series showcases Cartmell's ability to incorporate supernatural elements into her thrilling crime stories. With several books already published and more on the way, Cartmell continues to captivate readers with her intriguing characters and gripping plots.
