Wendy Heuvel is a suspense, Christian, and mystery author who has a unique background, being Canadian by birth, Dutch by blood, and British by heart. From a young age, Heuvel was drawn to mystery stories, often found reading Nancy Drew books and watching Murder, She Wrote with her father. Her passion for mystery led her to frequently explore old houses, searching for hidden passageways and unsolved cases.
Heuvel's love for writing began at an early age, and she has since written in various formats, including articles, business copy, full-length feature plays, and short dramas. In 2008, she was recognized for her writing talents and made the shortlist for the Best New Christian Author award by the Christian Writers’ Guild Canada for a YA fantasy novel. Additionally, Heuvel has experience in screenwriting, having taken classes and courses on the subject, and even making the shortlist of twelve in the 2008 “Art Within Labs Screenplay.”
Currently, Wendy Heuvel resides on 26 wooded acres with her husband, four children, and a variety of pets, including three floofy kitties and one monster dog. She is passionate about Christian mission work, world traveling, birding, and eating potatoes. In the past, Heuvel had a blog about simplicity and minimalism called “Basic Abundance,” but her focus shifted to her family and caring for her four children. Despite her many accomplishments and interests, Heuvel remains a dedicated and passionate writer, committed to creating engaging and thought-provoking stories for her readers.
