Wendy Percival

Wendy Percival is a British author who hails from the West Midlands and grew up in rural Worcestershire. She moved to North Devon in the 1980s to begin her teaching career. Percival's interest in writing was sparked by an impulse buy of Writing Magazine, which led her to start writing seriously. After winning a short story competition and having another story published, she turned to full-length fiction.

The time-honored tradition of discovering a 'box of old documents in the attic' ignited Percival's curiosity in genealogy. Her research into her Shropshire roots inspired her to write the first Esme Quentin mystery, Blood-Tied. Percival continues to be intrigued by genealogy, its mysteries, and the 'skeletons in cupboards' it often uncovers. This fascination provides material for her website blog and serves as inspiration for her future novels.

Percival's writing covers a range of topics, including family history and genealogy. She shares her insights and surprising discoveries on her family history blog, which can be found at familyhistorysecrets.blogspot.com. Additionally, she shares her thoughts on books and writing in her "Bite-size Blog" on her official website, wendypercival.co.uk/blog. Percival currently resides in South West England and continues to write and explore the mysteries of family history.
