Wendy Webb is an accomplished American author, well-known for her gothic suspense novels. Born and raised in St. Louis Park, a suburb of Minneapolis, Webb developed a passion for writing and reading at a young age. This passion was sparked by Madeleine L'Engle's book "A Wrinkle in Time," which inspired her to pursue a career in writing. Webb attended the University of Minnesota, where she majored in political science.
After graduation, Webb spent some time in France and then returned to the United States to work for a congressman in Washington D.C. She later got a job working for a Minnesota senator. However, her dream was to become a novelist, and she eventually got her chance when her home life and work allowed her to begin writing fiction. Webb's journalism career provided her with a solid foundation for her writing, and she has never looked back since making the transition to fiction.
Webb's novels are set in the Great Lakes region and are filled with mysteries about long-buried family secrets, haunted houses, and the supernatural. Some of her most popular works include "The Tale of Halcyon Crane," "The Fate of Mercy Alban," "The Vanishing," "The End of Temperance Dare," "Daughters of the Lake," and "The Haunting of Brynn Wilder." Her books have been translated into more than a dozen languages and are sold worldwide. Webb has won several awards for her writing, including the Minnesota Book Award for her fiction books. She currently lives in Minneapolis, where she continues to work on her next novel.
