William Ryan is an accomplished author, born in Ireland and currently residing in London with his wife and son. He has a strong educational background, having attended Trinity College, Dublin and St. Andrews College. Before pursuing a career in writing, Ryan worked as a lawyer. His debut novel, "The Holy Thief," was well-received and shortlisted for several awards, including the Novel of the Year for the Theakston's Crime Awards, the CWA John Creasy Award, and a Barry Award.
Ryan has written a series of novels featuring Captain Korolev, set in Moscow, which have been shortlisted for numerous awards. His second novel, "The Bloody Meadow," was shortlisted for the novel of the year during the Ireland AM Crime Awards. "The Twelfth Crime" was also shortlisted for a CWA Award and was named as the novel of the year by the Guardian. In addition to the Korolev series, Ryan has also written standalone novels, including "The Constant Soldier" and "A House of Ghosts," under the name W.C. Ryan. His latest novel, "The Winter Guest," set in the Irish War of Independence, has been praised as a "gem of a novel." Ryan is also a licensed mudlarker and enjoys cycling in his free time.
