Win Blevins

Winfred Blevins is an accomplished author known for his works in historical fiction and Western literature. His debut book, "Give Your Heart to the Hawks," has remained in print for over four decades and appeared on the New York Times bestseller list. Among his three dozen published works, "Stone Song," a novel based on the life of Crazy Horse, stands out as a significant achievement. This book deepened his connection to Native American culture, leading him to become a pipe carrier and embrace the spiritual path known as "walking the red road."

Blevins has also ventured into screenwriting, selling multiple scripts while maintaining a prolific literary career. His contributions to Western literature earned him the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Western Writers of America, as well as induction into their Hall of Fame. He and his wife, novelist Meredith Blevins, reside in the Utah canyonlands near Navajo communities, where they draw inspiration from the landscape and cultural exchange. Alongside writing, Blevins has pursued outdoor adventures, including mountain climbing and river running, enriching the authenticity of his storytelling.
