Wolf Haas is a renowned Austrian author, best known for his crime fiction novels and the popular Detective Brenner series. Haas was born on December 14, 1960, in Maria Alm am Steinernen Meer, a picturesque village in the province of Salzburg, Austria. After completing his university education, he pursued a career in advertising as a copywriter. It was during this time that Haas began to develop his storytelling abilities, eventually leading to his career as a successful author.
In 1996, Haas made the transition from advertising to writing, releasing his first detective novel, "Auferstehung der Toten" (Resurrection of the Dead). This book introduced the world to the character of Simon Brenner, a former police officer turned private investigator, who would become the main protagonist in most of Haas' early works. The Detective Brenner series now consists of nine books, with three of them being adapted into successful German-language films.
Throughout his career, Haas has received numerous prestigious awards for his contributions to the crime fiction genre.
