C Hope Clark is a successful mystery author who was born and raised in the American South. She has lived in various states in the region, including Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina, which has provided her with a deep understanding and appreciation for the area and its people. Clark's Southern roots are evident in her writing, particularly in the Caroline Slade Mystery series, where the protagonist shares many similarities with the author's own life.\n \n Clark holds a B.S. in Agriculture with honors from Clemson University and has over 25 years of experience working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Her professional background has given her a unique perspective and expertise that she incorporates into her writing. After retiring early from her career, Clark turned her attention to her passion for writing and storytelling.
Clark's debut novel, "Lowcountry Bribe," was a finalist for the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense and a semi-finalist in the 2009 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest. The book went on to win the 2012 Silver Falchion Award for Crime Fiction and the 2013 EPIC E-book Award for Best Mystery. Clark has since released several more novels in the Carolina Slade series, as well as a new series, the Edisto Island Mysteries.
In addition to her work as an author, Clark is also the founder and manager of FundsforWriters.com, a weekly newsletter service that reaches over 35,000 writers. She is a frequent speaker at writers' conferences and has been recognized by Writer's Digest as one of the 101 Best Websites for Writers for over a decade. Clark is a member of several professional organizations, including Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and MENSA. She currently resides in South Carolina with her husband, a retired federal law enforcement agent.
