Camilla Trinchieri is a bestselling author, known for her thriller and mystery novels. She was born in Prague to an Italian diplomat father and an American mother and came to the United States at the age of twelve. After graduating from Barnard College, she moved to Italy where she worked in the movie industry as a dubbing producer and director with notable figures such as Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, and Lina Wertmüller.
In 1980, Trinchieri returned to New York City, earned an MFA in writing from Columbia University, and became an American citizen. She has published a total of fourteen novels, both under her real name and pseudonyms Trella Crespi and Camilla Crespi. As Camilla Crespi, she has written seven novels in "The Trouble With" mystery series, featuring Simona Griffo, an Italian immigrant who loves to cook. Additionally, she has published standalone novels, including "The Breakfast Club Murder" and "The Price of Silence."
Trinchieri's writing also explores her family history and personal experiences. "Seeking Alice" is a fictionalized account of her mother's life in Europe during World War II, and "The Road to Murder" is a Tuscan mystery series featuring Nico Doyle, a New York ex-homicide detective, and Maresciallo dei Carabinieri Salvatore Perillo. Trinchieri's novels have been translated and published in Italy and Germany, and are available in hardcover, paperback, e-book, and Audible formats.
