Cammie McGovern is a distinguished author from the United States, recognized for her work in contemporary, mystery, romance, thriller, fiction, young adult, and suspense novels. She has written just four novels so far, all of which have been widely successful. McGovern is particularly famous for her romance novel "Say What You Will." Her other three books are adult novels.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, McGovern grew up in a family of prominent personalities. Her father, William McGovern Jr, was a professor at a university, while her mother, Katherine Wolcott, was a high school teacher. She has an older sister named Elizabeth McGovern. When McGovern was seven years old, her family moved to Los Angeles after her father accepted a job offer to teach at UCLA Law School.
McGovern received a creative writing fellowship at Stanford University and has won numerous prizes for her short fiction. Her work has been published in various magazines, including Redbook, Seventeen, Glimmer Train, and TriQuarterly. She is also the author of another novel, "The Art of Seeing." McGovern lives in Amherst, Massachusetts, with her husband and three children, the eldest of whom is autistic. She is one of the founders of Whole Children, a resource center that runs after-school classes and programs for children with special needs.
