Carly Schabowski

Carly Schabowski is a highly regarded author of historical fiction, best known for her 2021 novel "The Rainbow." Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Schabowski developed an interest in history from a young age, which she would later translate into her writing career.

Before becoming an author, Schabowski worked as a journalist in both North Cyprus and Australia. She then returned to Oxford, where she pursued higher education in creative writing at Oxford Brookes University. Schabowski now teaches at Oxford Brookes University as an associate lecturer in Creative Writing for first and second-year English literature students.

Schabowski's debut novel, "The Ringmaster's Daughter," was published by Bookouture in July 2020, followed by her second novel, "The Watchmaker of Dachau," later that same year. Both novels are true, epic, and moving historical novels centered around survival, human suffering, and the finding of love within the desperate and uncertain times of 1940s Europe. Schabowski's writing is known for its meticulous attention to historical detail and its powerful emotional impact.

In addition to her successful career as an author, Schabowski is also a USA Today bestseller of historical fiction novels, including "The Ringmaster's Daughter," "The Watchmaker of Dachau," "The Rainbow," and "The Note." She currently resides in a tiny cottage in Oxfordshire, where she lives with her two dogs. Schabowski's interest in WWII history is inspired by a familial connection, and she even completed a PhD regarding the author's responsibility to historical fiction. Despite her academic achievements, Schabowski is known for being a hermit and indulging in her love of reading, writing, eating chips, and drinking the occasional gin.
