Caro Carver

Caro Carver is a published author and academic known for her work in gothic fiction and thrillers. Writing under the pseudonym C.J. Cooke, she has authored multiple novels translated into 23 languages. Her upcoming thriller, "Bad Tourists," set in the Maldives, marks her debut under her own name and has been optioned for a TV adaptation. Scheduled for release in 2024, it will be followed by a second thriller in 2025.

With a PhD in literature from Queen's University Belfast, Carver combines her academic expertise with her creative practice. She serves as a lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow, where she draws inspiration from Scotland’s rich literary traditions.
