Carole Lawrence

Carole Lawrence is a highly accomplished author, known for her work in historical mystery novels. She is best known for her Ian Hamilton series and writes under the pseudonyms of C.E. Lawrence, Carol Bugge, and Elizabeth Blake. Lawrence has a B.A. with honors in English and a second major in German from Duke University. She has also taught creative writing at NYU and Gotham Writers Workshop, and has been a faculty member at the Cape Cod, San Miguel, and Woodstock Writers Conferences.

Lawrence's work as a novelist, poet, composer, and playwright has earned her numerous awards and accolades. She is a two-time Pushcart Poetry Prize nominee and has won the Euphoria Poetry Prize, the Eve of St. Agnes Poetry Award, the Maxim Mazumdar playwriting prize, the Jerry Jazz Musician award for short fiction, and the Chronogram Literary Fiction Award. Her plays and musicals have been produced in several countries as well as on NPR, and her physics play "Strings" was recently produced at the Kennedy Center. Lawrence is a Hawthornden Fellow and is on the faculty of NYU and Gotham Writers, as well as the Cape Cod and San Miguel Writers' Conferences.

In addition to her love for writing, Lawrence enjoys outdoor sports such as hiking, biking, and horseback riding. She can often be found cooking and hunting for wild mushrooms. She writes under the names C. E. Lawrence and Carole Buggé, and her books are available on Amazon. As C. E. Lawrence, she has written the five-novel "Silent" series, which centers on New York detective Lee Campbell, a psychologist-turned-criminal-profiler. As Carole Buggé, she has written the three-novel "Who Killed" series, which features New York mystery editor Claire Rawlings and her thirteen-year-old friend, Meredith Lawrence.
