Caroline Stevermer

Caroline Stevermer is a young adult fantasy author, known for her historical fantasy novels with a magical twist. Stevermer grew up on a dairy farm in rural Minnesota, where she developed a love for writing at a young age. She began creating stories in her notebooks when she was just eight years old, and continued to write throughout her childhood and into her adult life.

After graduating from high school, Stevermer attended Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.A. in the history of art. It was during her time at Bryn Mawr that Stevermer realized she wanted to be a writer, and she began working on her craft in earnest. She persisted through early rejections and challenges, eventually selling her first professional story in 1980.

In the years since, Stevermer has had a variety of jobs to support herself while continuing to write. She has published numerous novels and has become known for her unique blend of historical fiction and fantasy. Stevermer's writing is informed by her love of libraries and museums, as well as her appreciation for artists like Nicholas Hilliard and writers like Mark Twain. She currently lives in Minnesota, where she continues to write and be inspired by the world around her.
