Carolyn Huynh

Carolyn Huynh is a Vietnamese American writer whose work explores themes of diaspora, memory, and the complexities of family dynamics. Her debut novel, "The Fortunes of Jaded Women," was a Good Morning America Book Club pick and named one of NPR's Best Books of 2022. She has also authored "The Family Recipe" and is currently working on her forthcoming novel, "The Breadwinner," set for release in 2024.

Born to Vietnamese refugees and raised in Orange County, California, Huynh draws inspiration from her cultural heritage, weaving her mother's superstitions and tall tales into her narratives. Her writing often centers on flawed yet relatable Asian women navigating life's challenges. Now based in Los Angeles, she infuses her stories with humor and heart, reflecting her own experiences as part of the diaspora.
