Cass Morris is a debut author who has a passion for historical fantasy and worldbuilding. She currently resides in Virginia and North Carolina, where she shares her home with two regal felines. Morris is about to release her first novel, "From Unseen Fire," a historical fantasy epic published by DAW Books, which is set to be available on April 17th, 2018.
In addition to her work as an author, Morris is a research editor and worldbuilding specialist at Plato Learning, a company that offers mythology-themed summer camps and other educational programming. She provides dramaturgical research and developmental editing for the camps' immersive, interactive theatrical experiences. Previously, Morris worked as the Academic Resources Manager at the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA. She has a Master of Letters in Shakespeare studies from Mary Baldwin University and a BA in English and History from the College of William and Mary.
Morris is also one-third of the team behind the Hugo Award Finalist podcast "Worldbuilding for Masochists," where she shares her expertise and enthusiasm for creating immersive and detailed worlds in fiction. She is an avid reader, enjoys wearing corsets voluntarily, and is a formidable opponent in Mario Kart. Morris is represented by Connor Goldsmith of Fuse Literary.
