Cassie Edwards is a highly prolific and celebrated American author, best known for her more than 100 historical romance novels. She made her debut in the publishing world in 1982 with "Eugenia’s Embrace" and published her hundredth book "Savage Skies" in 2007. Although her earlier works were classical historical romance novels, the majority of her novels involve the Native American tribes, a subject that is close to her heart as her grandmother was a full-blooded Cheyenne.
Edwards's dedication to her craft and her subject matter is evident in the meticulous research she conducts for each of her novels. She is committed to accurately portraying the proper anthropological backgrounds of each tribe she writes about, which has earned her a reputation as a thorough and dedicated author. This dedication has paid off, as her first 99 books had sold a combined 10 million copies as of August 2007. Her more recent novels have continued to be successful, with average sales of 250,000-350,000 copies.
In addition to her commercial success, Edwards has also received critical acclaim for her work. She has won the Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Award and the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award, as well as being named one of Affaire de Coeur's top ten favorite romance writers.
Edwards has been married to her husband Charles, a retired high school biology teacher, for over 50 years. They have two sons, Charles and Brian, and three grandchildren. The family lived in St. Louis, Missouri for over thirty years, but now reside in Mattoon, Illinois. Despite her many accomplishments, Edwards remains a humble and dedicated author, always striving to bring accurate and engaging stories to her readers.
