Catherine Anderson is a bestselling American romance novelist, known for her historical and contemporary novels. She has written over 35 epic books that have captured the hearts of readers worldwide. Anderson was born and raised in Oregon, and after dropping out of college where she studied accounting, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a writer. She is married to Sidney D. Anderson, an industrial electrician and entrepreneur, and they have two sons together.
Anderson's love for writing began at a young age, inspired by her mother who was also a writer. She began writing stories but never thought of publishing them until much later in life. In 1988, she sold her first book to Harlequin Intrigue and went on to write three more books before trying her hand at a single-title historical romance. Nine books later, she wrote her first single-title contemporary. Anderson's writing has earned her massive recognition, with her books becoming best-selling masterpieces around the world and in the United States.
Anderson's husband passed away in 2014, and she now spends her time between her primary residence in Cinnamon Ridge, Oregon, and her son John's farm. She is an animal lover and has two Australian shepherds, six cats, and a very old canary. Anderson is very family-oriented and will celebrate Christmas with her son Sidney, his wife Mary, and their two sons, Liam and Jonas, in New Zealand. She enjoys interacting with her followers on Facebook and has a strong online presence. Anderson's works have made numerous bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Ingram, Waldenbooks, and Barnes and Noble.
