Catherine Fisher

Catherine Fisher is a highly acclaimed author, teacher, and archaeologist from Wales. She was born in Newport, Gwent, and graduated from the University of Wales with a degree in English and a fascination for myth and history. Fisher has had a successful career in various fields, but she is best known for her contributions to young adult fantasy literature and poetry. She has worked as a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Glamorgan and is a Fellow of the Welsh Academy.

Fisher has written nineteen novels, all of which have been translated into seventeen different languages. Many of her works have won awards and have been shortlisted for literary awards, earning her a great deal of respect and admiration from her peers and readers alike. Her poetry has appeared in leading periodicals and anthologies, and she has won several awards for her poetry and fiction, including the WAC Young Writers' Prize, the Cardiff International Poetry Competition, and the Mythopoeic Society of America's Children's Fiction Award.

Her latest poetry collection, "The Bramble King," was published in 2019.
