Cathy Lamb

Cathy Lamb is a best-selling American author of women's fiction novels. She was born in Newport Beach, California, where she spent her early years before her family moved to Oregon when she was 10. Growing up, Lamb was full of creativity and adventure, mastering the art of catching butterflies in a bottle, skateboarding, and riding her bicycle with no hands. However, she never got the chance to live out her dream of becoming a surfer bum in California.

After moving to Oregon, Lamb pursued her academic career and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education from the University of Oregon. She became a teacher, a career she continued until she became a mother. During her time as a teacher, Lamb found joy in teaching children about the Oregon Trail and multiplication facts. However, she eventually decided to leave teaching to focus on her family and writing.

Lamb's writing career began with freelance writing for a local newspaper, where she wrote over 200 articles on homes, home décor, people, and fashion. Although she is not fashionable and does not enjoy shopping, she found it fascinating to learn about women who obsess over what to wear. She also discovered that home remodeling projects can be more stressful than relaxing. Lamb's writing is influenced by her experiences as a teacher, mother, and freelance writer. She is known for her women's fiction novels that feature complex characters and engaging storylines.

Lamb's writing process is unique, as she likes to be left alone to hear the odd characters in her head talk to each other. She often stays up late into the night, transferring their oddness to paper. Lamb is currently working on her next book and continues to be inspired by her family, friends, and life experiences. Despite her success as an author, she remains humble and dedicated to her craft, always striving to create meaningful and engaging stories for her readers.
