Charlie Gallagher is a British author of crime thriller novels, best known for his Langthorne Police series and the Detective Maddie Ives series. Gallagher has been writing for two decades, but only recently began writing full-time. Prior to his career as a writer, he worked for eleven years as a police officer in the United Kingdom, where he took on various roles such as a response officer, a member of a specialist tactical team, a detective, and a member of a regional counter-terrorism unit.
Gallagher's experiences in the police force have provided him with a wealth of material to draw upon for his writing. His stories are often inspired by his real-life experiences, lending a sense of authenticity to his work. Despite his success as an author, Gallagher has chosen to keep his identity hidden, preferring to remain unknown to the world. He believes that this allows him to worry less about the reactions of others and to focus more on his writing.
In addition to his police procedural series, Gallagher has also written several standalone novels. His books have been published by Joffe Books and Avon, an imprint of Harper Collins. He is a prolific writer, with several books in the Langthorne series, the Joel Norris series, and the George Elms series, as well as standalone novels. Gallagher currently lives on the south coast of England with his wife and two daughters, along with their dog, tortoise, and cat. He continues to write full-time, with several new projects in development.
