Charlie Huston is a well-established American author, celebrated for his work in crime fiction, pulp fiction, horror novels, and comic book writing. Hailing from Oakland, California, Huston moved to New York in 1995 to pursue his acting aspirations, where he crossed paths with his future wife, Virginia Louise Smith, a Broadway actress. The couple currently resides in Los Angeles.
Throughout his career, Huston has demonstrated a knack for creating captivating stories that keep readers on the edge of their seats. His written works include the Joe Pitt Casebooks, the Hank Thompson trilogy, several Marvel Comics, and popular standalone novels. Among his most famous works are The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death, The Shotgun Rule, and Caught Stealing, the latter of which earned him an Edgar Award nomination in 2006.
Huston has cited several literary influences throughout his career, most notably Raymond Chandler and J.R.R. Tolkien. While he is recognized as a crime fiction writer, Huston identifies more with the pulp fiction genre, which is evident in his writing style. He made his debut in crime fiction and thriller circles in 2004 with the publication of Caught Stealing. Since then, he has garnered a dedicated following and critical acclaim for his work.
