Chris Bachelder

Chris Bachelder is an American author, best known for his works of fiction that often incorporate elements of satire and realism. He was born in Minneapolis in 1971, but spent most of his formative years in Christiansburg, Virginia. It was in this small town that Bachelder first discovered his passion for writing, which he would later cultivate and develop into a successful career.

After graduating from high school, Bachelder attended Virginia Tech, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then went on to pursue a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Throughout his academic career, Bachelder honed his writing skills and developed a distinctive voice that would come to define his work.

Over the years, Bachelder has established himself as one of America's top-ranking writers, with a body of work that includes several highly acclaimed novels. These include "Bear V. Shark," "U.S.!: Songs and Stories," "Abbott Awaits," and "The Throwback Special." His writing has also been featured in a number of prestigious literary publications, such as McSweeney’s, The Believer, and the Paris Review.

In addition to his work as a writer, Bachelder is also a dedicated teacher, having taught fiction writing and literature classes at several different colleges and universities. He currently resides in Cincinnati with his wife and two daughters, where he continues to write and teach at the University of Cincinnati. Throughout his career, Bachelder has remained committed to his craft, producing work that is both thought-provoking and deeply engaging.
