Chris Culver is an American author, best known for his Ash Rashid series of mystery books. Culver's writing has gained significant recognition, with his debut novel, The Abbey, spending sixteen weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
Culver was born in Tulsa and began his career as a writer after completing graduate school. He taught courses in ethics and comparative religion at a small liberal arts university in southern Arkansas. It was during his tenure here, while he should have been grading exams, that he wrote The Abbey, introducing the world to Detective Ash Rashid.
Culver's passion for storytelling began in his childhood, but his decision to write crime fiction came later in life. This shift occurred after he stumbled upon a dog-eared, coffee-stained paperback copy of Mickey Spillane’s I, the Jury in a library book sale. This discovery sparked his interest in the crime fiction genre, and he has been writing in this genre ever since.
Culver, his wife, and a labrador retriever named Roy currently reside near St. Louis. Here, Culver continues to work on his next novel, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to his craft and his fans.
