Chris Lloyd was born in a remarkable manner, as he came into the world while an ambulance was racing through a town. This event may have sparked his adventurous spirit and thirst for exploration.
After graduating with a degree in Spanish and French, Lloyd embarked on a journey that would lead him to live in various parts of Europe for over twenty years. His travels included stays in Catalonia, Grenoble, the Basque Country, and Madrid. During his time abroad, he worked as an English teacher and was involved in educational publishing and travel writing. Currently, he resides in South Wales and works as a translator and novelist.
Lloyd's debut novel, "The Unwanted Dead" (Orion), is a direct result of his lifelong interest in World War 2 and resistance and collaboration in Occupied France. The novel is set in Paris and features Detective Eddie Giral as the main character. In addition to "The Unwanted Dead," Lloyd is also the author of the Elisenda Domènech crime series (Canelo), which features a police officer with the newly-devolved Catalan police force. Lloyd's experiences living in various European countries have provided him with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for his writing.
