Chris Ryan

Chris Ryan is a pseudonym of Colin Armstrong, a retired British special forces operative soldier who was born in 1961 in a village near Newcastle. After serving in the military for over a decade, Ryan joined the SAS in 1984 and was involved in various covert and overt operations. He quickly rose through the ranks and became the Sniper team commander of the anti-terrorist team.

Ryan's time in the SAS was marked by several notable achievements. During the Gulf War, he was part of an eight-man team known as Bravo Two Zero. When the mission went awry, Ryan was the only member of the team to escape from Iraq. This escape and evasion mission was the longest in the history of the SAS, and for his bravery and resourcefulness, Ryan was awarded the Military Medal. In the last two years of his service, Ryan selected and trained potential SAS recruits before leaving the SAS in 1994.

After retiring from the military, Ryan turned to writing novels, drawing upon his extensive experience in the SAS to create thrilling and realistic stories. His work in security also takes him around the world, providing him with further inspiration for his writing. In addition to his work as an author, Ryan has also appeared in a number of TV programs, including "HUNTING CHRIS RYAN," "PUSHED TO THE LIMIT (Toughest Families)," and "TERROR ALERT" on Sky TV.
