Chris Stewart is an accomplished author, world-record-setting pilot, and president of The Shipley Group, a nationally recognized consulting and training company. He has had a distinguished career in the military, serving for fourteen years in the United States Air Force as a pilot. During his time in the Air Force, Stewart piloted both the B-1B bomber and rescue helicopters. His aviation skills were showcased on June 3, 1995, when he led a flight of two B-1B bombers on a nonstop flight around the world, setting three world-speed records in the process. This remarkable achievement earned him the MacKay trophy for the "most significant aerial achievement of the year."
In addition to his military service, Stewart is a bestselling author, with his books being selected by The Book of the Month Club and published in twelve different countries. He is well-known for his military techno-thrillers, which have been praised for their authenticity and gripping storytelling. Stewart's writing career has also seen him branch out into other genres, including LDS fiction, with his popular Great and Terrible series. His work has been recognized by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, who performed his story "A Christmas Bell for Anya" during their 2005 Christmas concert.
Stewart is also a politician, having run for Congress in his home state of Utah. His diverse background in the military, business, and writing has given him a unique perspective on matters of national security, military readiness, and leadership, which he has shared as a guest editorialist for the Detroit News. Despite his many accomplishments, Stewart remains dedicated to his family, with he and his wife, Evie, being the parents of six children. They currently reside in Utah.
