Christian Cameron is a highly regarded author, best known for his historical fiction novels. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1962 and spent his childhood in several different places, including Rochester, New York, Rockport, Massachusetts, and Iowa City, Iowa. Growing up, Cameron developed a deep interest in history, which would later become the focus of his writing career. He attended McQuaid Jesuit High School and went on to earn an honors BA degree in Medieval History from the University of Rochester.
After graduating from college, Cameron joined the United States Navy as an intelligence officer. He served for over a decade, including during the Gulf War, and gained air observer wings as an air intelligence officer while serving on VS 31. After leaving the Navy, Cameron became a full-time novelist, writing under his own name and also as Gordon Kent and Miles Christian. He is perhaps best known for his Tyrant, Long War, Tom Swan and the Head of St. George, and Traitor Son Cycle series, as well as the Alan Craik series as Gordon Kent.
Cameron is a dedicated reenactor and history enthusiast, and his passion for the past is evident in his writing. He currently lives in Toronto, Ontario with his wife and daughter, where he continues to write and reenact. In addition to his work as a novelist, Cameron is also a frequent speaker and presenter at historical reenactment events. He is an active member of the writing community and is known for his engaging and informative presentations on historical fiction and the writing process.
