Christopher Buckley

Christopher Buckley is an accomplished American author, well-known for his satirical novels and non-fiction books. He was born in New York City in 1952 and graduated cum laude from Yale University in 1976. After his graduation, Buckley worked in various capacities including shipping out in the Merchant Marine, becoming managing editor of Esquire magazine at the age of 24, and serving as chief speechwriter to the Vice President of the United States, George H.W. Bush, at the age of 29. These experiences greatly influenced his writing, particularly his novel "The White House Mess."

Since 1989, Buckley has been the founder and editor-in-chief of Forbes Life magazine. He has made significant contributions to the literary world with his wit and humor, penning twelve books, most of which have been national bestsellers. His notable works include "Thank You For Smoking," "God Is My Broker," "Little Green Men," "No Way To Treat a First Lady," "Florence of Arabia," "Boomsday," and "Supreme Courtship." Buckley's writing has been widely published in various prestigious publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, among others. He has also received several accolades for his work, including the Washington Irving Medal for Literary Excellence in 2002 and the Thurber Prize for American Humor in 2004.
