Christopher Robin Nicole is a renowned British author, born in 1930 in Georgetown, British Guiana, now Guyana, to Scottish parents. He is best known for his historical fiction, thriller, and romance novels. Nicole has had an extensive and prolific writing career, publishing novels since 1957 under his own name and various pseudonyms. His use of multiple pen names is a testament to his versatility as a writer, as he has written romance and historical fiction novels with equal proficiency.
Nicole was born to Jack Nicole, a police officer, and Jean Dorothy (Logan) Nicole. He spent his childhood in British Guiana and attended Queen's College in Guyana and Harrison College in Barbados. After his studies, he worked for the Canadian Bankers Association and the Royal Bank of Canada in Georgetown and Nassau from 1947 to 1956. In 1957, he moved to Guernsey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom, where he currently resides. He has also maintained a domicile in Spain. Nicole has been married twice, first to Jean Regina Amelia Barnett, with whom he had four children, and later to fellow writer Diana Bachmann.
Nicole's writing career began in 1957 with the publication of a book about West Indian Cricket. He wrote his first novel in 1959, with his early stories set in his native Caribbean. Over the years, he has written historical novels set in tumultuous periods such as World War I, World War II, and the Cold War, depicting places in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has also written classic romance novels and specialized in Series and Sagas. Nicole continues to write into the 21st century with no intention of retiring.
