Christopher Ruocchio

Christopher Ruocchio is an accomplished American author, best known for his award-winning Sun Eater book series. He is also an assistant editor at Baen Books, where he has co-edited four anthologies. Born and raised in North Carolina, Ruocchio attended Catholic schools until high school and later graduated with a degree in English rhetoric from North Carolina State University. His writing career began when he was just eight years old, and he sold his first novel, Empire of Silence, at the age of twenty-two. To date, Ruocchio's books have been published in five different languages.

Ruocchio's Sun Eater series is a space opera fantasy series that has gained international acclaim. The first novel in the series, Empire of Silence, was published in 2018 by DAW Books. The series is known for its extreme storytelling, intriguing world-building, and complex characters. Ruocchio's protagonist, Hadrian Marlowe, is a character that has been described as both a hero and a monster, depending on one's perspective. Before becoming famous as the man who vanquished an alien species by extinguishing billions of lives, Hadrian was the disappointed firstborn son of an aristocratic archon and the heir to the family's uranium empire.

In addition to his work as an author and editor, Ruocchio has also written for Marvel Comics, contributing Thor's story for Avengers #750. He is active on social media, with a presence on both Facebook and Twitter under the handle 'TheRuocchio.' Ruocchio is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he studied English rhetoric and the Classics. He currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his family.
