Ciannon Smart is a young adult, fantasy, and literary fiction author who was raised in a small town in the south-east of England. She is the only daughter in a household filled with energetic males, which led her to spend much of her time reading from a young age. Smart had a preference for the anarchy she found in the stories she loved to read, as she found it more appealing than real-life happenings. She has a particular fondness for unpredictable, wily, and wilful villains, who often serve as the heroines in her young adult works.
Smart's Jamaican heritage has influenced her writing, most notably in her debut novel, "Witches Steeped in Gold." When she is not writing, she can be found painting, reading, or listening to music. Smart has a love for stories that feature complex and dynamic characters, and she strives to bring that same level of depth and intrigue to her own work. Her writing is a reflection of her passion for storytelling and her commitment to creating engaging and thought-provoking narratives.
