Claire Lombardo

Claire Lombardo is an American author best known for her debut novel, "The Most Fun We Ever Had," published in 2019. The novel became a New York Times bestseller and was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Originally conceived as a short story, it evolved into a sprawling family saga that has been translated into over a dozen languages. The book is currently being adapted into a television series produced by Laura Dern and Amy Adams, with Lombardo contributing to the screenplay.

Lombardo earned her MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and has a background in social work, having spent several years in Chicago before transitioning to writing. Her work often explores intricate family dynamics and interpersonal relationships with a keen eye for emotional depth. She now teaches fiction writing and resides in Iowa City, Iowa, continuing to build her literary career.
