Clare Mackintosh

Clare MacKintosh is a highly acclaimed author, best known for her thrilling mystery and crime novels. Originally from England, MacKintosh served as a police officer and public order commander before leaving to pursue a career in freelance writing. Using her experience in law enforcement, she wrote her debut novel, I Let You Go, which became an instant bestseller and won the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year in 2016.

MacKintosh's literary work has been translated into over thirty languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide. In addition to I Let You Go, she has written several other bestsellers including I See You, Let Me Lie, and After the End. Her latest novel, A Game of Lies, is the second in a crime series featuring Welsh detective DC Ffion Morgan. MacKintosh's books have spent a combined total of 64 weeks in the Sunday Times bestseller chart, showcasing her widespread popularity.

In addition to her success as a novelist, MacKintosh is also a dedicated advocate for parents experiencing high-risk or difficult pregnancies. She is the patron of the Silver Star Society, a charity based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. MacKintosh currently resides in North Wales with her husband and their three children.
