Craig Alanson is an accomplished American science fiction author, best known for his Expeditionary Force and Ascendant series. He has built a reputation for his unique storytelling and world-building skills in the science fiction and fantasy genres.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Alanson worked in the IT industry, creating financial reports for a large company. However, he pursued his passion for writing during his nights and weekends, eventually publishing his first three novels independently on Amazon. His breakthrough came with the release of Columbus Day, the first book in the Expeditionary Force series, which became a massive hit in ebook and audiobook formats. Alanson's success allowed him to quit his day job and focus on writing.
The Expeditionary Force series, also known as ExForce, has grown to include ten books and audiobooks, with the eleventh book planned for release in June 2021. Many of these works have appeared on the New York Times best-seller list. Alanson has also expanded his creative output to include a spin-off series, ExForce: Mavericks; an ExForce audio drama, Homefront; a fantasy trilogy, Ascendent; and a young adult space opera, Aces. Despite his success, Alanson remains humble, living in Virginia with his wife, who supports his refusal to clean the garage.
