Cuyler Overholt is an accomplished American author, best known for her historical mystery novels. Specifically, she is the author of the Dr. Genevieve Summerford series. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law, Overholt practiced law as a litigation associate for several years. She then transitioned to a freelance writing business, where she honed her skills in crafting engaging prose. Overholt currently resides in Connecticut with her husband, with whom she has two sons.
Before turning to fiction, Overholt worked in a variety of fields including law and freelance business writing. Her debut novel, A Deadly Affection, was the first book in the Dr. Genevieve Summerford series. This novel was well-received, winning the ForeWord Reviews Book of the Year Award for best mystery and was shortlisted for the Strand Critics Award for best first novel. The second book in the series, A Promise of Ruin, was also met with critical acclaim, being nominated for the Daphne du Maurier Award.
In addition to her work as an author, Overholt has a keen interest in human motivation and behavior, a passion she shares with her husband, a psychologist.
