E. Lockhart

Emily Jenkins, who is also known by her pen name E. Lockhart, is a distinguished American author of children's books. She was born in 1967 in Cambridge and later moved to Massachusetts before settling in Washington. From a young age, Jenkins developed an interest in drama and attended summer drama schools at Northwestern University and Minneapolis Children's drama school.

Jenkins pursued her passion for literature and drama at Vassar College, where she interviewed Barry Moser for her senior thesis. She also studied illustrated books at the college. After completing her undergraduate studies, Jenkins went on to earn a doctorate in English literature from Columbia University. Currently, she resides in the New York City area.

As an author, Emily Jenkins has written several highly acclaimed books under the pen name E. Lockhart. Some of her most popular works include the Ruby Oliver Quartet, which features the first novel Boyfriend List, Again Again, Genuine Fraud, We Were Liars, Family of Liars, and The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks. In addition to these novels, she has also written a graphic novel called Whistle: A New Gotham CIty Hero. Jenkins' work has received critical acclaim and has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades.
