E. N. Joy, also known as Joylynn M. Ross, is a prolific and accomplished author with a diverse body of work. She is perhaps best known for her "New Day Divas," "Still Divas," "Always Divas," and "Forever Divas" series, which have been affectionately dubbed "Soap Operas in Print." Prior to writing under the name E. N. Joy, she authored secular works under the pseudonyms Joy, Jossel, and Joylynn. Her debut novel, "Me, Myself and Him," was published in 2008, and she has since become a prominent figure in urban fiction.
In addition to her work as a novelist, E. N. Joy is an accomplished children's and middle-grade author, writing under the name N. Joy. Her children's story, "The Secret Olivia Told Me," received the American Library Association Coretta Scott King Honor and has sold nearly 100,000 copies. She is a passionate advocate for literacy and conducts readings and workshops for elementary and middle school children across the country. E. N. Joy's commitment to promoting literacy and creative writing extends beyond her own work, as she also serves as the artistic developer for a young girl group named DJHK Gurls, for whom she writes original songs that tackle issues affecting today's youth, such as bullying.
Before dedicating herself full-time to writing, E. N. Joy worked as a paralegal in the insurance industry for 13 years. In 2000, she founded her own publishing company and published her own works until she secured a book deal with St. Martin's Press. Over the years, she has shared her literary expertise on conference panels and conducted publishing and writing workshops for aspiring writers. In addition to her work as an author and literary consultant, E. N. Joy has worked as the first content development editor for Triple Crown Publications and as the acquisitions editor for Carl Weber's Urban Christian imprint for a decade. She now works as a freelance editor, ghostwriter, and literary consultant for a variety of clients, including New York Times Bestselling authors, entertainers, and aspiring writers.
